COURSE DESCRIPTION: Welcome!
Street Justice introduces students to literary elements focused on legal themes through use of relevant texts, seminal historical documents, case law and technical writings. Legal themes will include thematic pieces often visited in literary classrooms, such as justice, fairness, equality, and mercy. Legal debates, influential speeches, televised trials and movies will also be implemented within the curriculum.
COURSE CURRICULUM:
Unit 1: Understanding laws and injustice in society.
Unit 2: Constitutional Amendments (concentration 1st,
4th and 5th)
Unit 3: Introduction to reading case law (historical and
present day application)
Unit 4: Moot Court Preparation
Unit 6: Public Speaking for Social Justice (Debating)
Unit 7: Research Workshop (Legal Issues our Communities)
